This is the freestyle riding in Zurich which seemed to have attracted a high caliber of competitors for 2007. Chris Pfeiffer on his BMW F800 has won it with almost a perfect score. He is 36 years old with more skills then I have ever seen one person have, he is amazing to watch. Check out the YouTube link he really has amazing balancing capabilities, and its a stock F800 except for the number of teeth in the rear sprokect.

I have gotten a few parts which will be added to Robo while in the shop since he is getting fixed, he should also get fixed up! There is one thing I want to get for myself which is the back protector to slip into my Dainese jackets. There are other back protectors which cover the whole spine from top to bottom, but that isn’t what I want to currently wear. This will do the job and I can change it from jacket to jacket since most of my jackets are Dainese. I will be asking Tristar to pick it up for me since they are the Dainese dealers in Kuwait, and I have noticed that their prices are very reasonable and I’m not in a hurry to pick it up so I can wait a bit.
I just wish we had a damn track in Kuwait. What most riders like doing is taking turns as best they can, and enjoy the apexes in each turn. Not just wheeling in the middle of damn traffic. If we had a track I would be there everyweek if possible to enjoy the track and it can be rented out to clubs which would be cool as hell. These people in government don’t realize that if they do this it will keep a lot of people of the streets and they can let loose in their vehicles and bikes. I even heard they are shutting down the dragstrip which is a huge mistake, they said because its the noise disturbance to the houses which have been recently built. Didn’t they think that a house next to a dragstrip wouldn’t work! Just give us a plot of land in the middle of no where and people will go!
I was supposed to get up at 9:00 am but since I slept so late that wasn’t going to happen. I got up at 11:00am and I really wanted to ride, first thing I did was get out of bed to check out the weather. It was nice, so me and Mark decided to meet up for a ride in this nice weather.
Tristar sent me a very nice bike to try for the weekend, it was a Ducait Sport Classic 1000 Monoposto. This bike oozes quality, and its a true Cafe Racer. When I saw that bike it gives another name for red blooded Italian, when I was on it, I got this image in my head of the engineers in Italy working on the bike and polishing it before shipping it off. When I started up the engine I really felt that this V-Twin really rumbled the right way, and I knew that this bike is meant to handle curves. I wanted to take it easy on the bike since it was still being broken in.
We started off from Marina Parking lot and headed down the Gulf Road, we wanted to go the whole way, but cut off at Jibla and turned out there was a Hala Febrayer event taking place. Then we took some inside roads to the second ring road so that we could cut across and take a different route to the Gulf Road, it was nice since traffic was light. We were enjoying ourselves, and Mark is riding better then before.
It was a fun day and towards the end when I was heading home there was some cross wind which was getting annoying since I was really enjoying riding the bike. The bike has a lot going for it, and I like its class Cafe Racer look. It was a nice day of riding! I just felt that its getting a bit hot, I really want the weather to stay cold until at least May. This Ducati even gave me a reason to wear my Red helmet.
I got a call Thursday morning from the Tristar Garage telling me that my clutch is malfunctioning and my Clutch Master Cylinder needs to be replaced since it also isn’t functioning. So they said they have one part in stock and the other they have to order. I was happy they figured out what was the issue, I thought there might have been some air in the line or the clutch needed some tweaking, but at least I know now what is going on and that it can be fixed, but it is a bit frustrating that I can’t have my bike.
I got a call that same morning from Tristar telling me that they would send me a bike to test ride for a few days since I couldn’t make the test ride they had a few weeks ago. I thought it was great of them to give me a bike for the weekend, and it arrived at my house around 6:30pm which isn’t too bad since I want to ride Friday morning. I have to say that it is one very unique looking bike and its going to be fun to ride. Of course I will take care of it like it’s my own bike and take it easy. This is going to be a fun ride tomorrow! I will be taking lots of pictures.
This is the revamped Honda CBR600RR and it is one aggressive looking machine. I have been on an 05 CBR600RR and they were rather mellow for being a supersport, but it seems like Honda has turned this around and made it more aggressive with a litte bit more push in the middle. I think it looks pretty nice, but I have never been a huge fan of the Honda paint scheme.
This was a TriStar meet up at Green Island on Friday morning which I decided to go to. And I have to say that this is the reason why I like TriStar they are the people who ride motorcycles as well sell them. You could feel that they are trying to make a community from all these riders, and there are a lot of good people in this group with really cool motorcycles. It was a very organized ride from Green Island all the way to Julai’a which was a 45 minute ride and we were all riding along calmly. There were a few annoying drivers but it was a good ride and their are some pretty experienced riders riding with us which was good. Just before leaving we saw a group of 20 Harleys riding down the Gulf Road, I knew a few of them and so did the other people. We were a mixed bunch of motorcycles from cuisers to sports bikes, and to trail riding bikes, there was about 25 of us riding.
It was good to meet up with these people, but I had to leave because I had a few things on schedule and I went riding a little longer before heading home. I wish there were more places for bikers to ride. I still need to sort out the issue with my clutch but hopefully soon.
I went home and dropped off my laptop and kept on riding because the day was so nice. I had one thing in mind to do which was to get a shave and shave my head. I look like the guy from Caveman and I needed to get cleaned up. So I was riding until my apppointment, but it was fun as hell riding in this beautiful weather. The only thing annoying about this day is because of the weather and it was pushing me a round sometimes so I did what I could to compensate but it was a damn nice feeling. Good music and nice roads, I was really pushing it a bit sometimes.
The best feeling I had was when I was getting the shave! That felt damn good, and then putting the helmet on I felt so damn clean.
It felt fantastic getting up in the morning because I could see from my window that it was sunny. So I jumped right in the shower looking forward to riding my bike since it has been a while. I was literally flying through my usual routines and I started my bike when I got down stairs and I loved that rumble when it starts. I got on the bike with my back pack carrying my laptop and zoomed to work. I had to pump the clutch a lot since it was really cold and I had to get it warmed up and the fluids flowing.
I was flying to work for no reason except enjoyment and the roads were empty and I wanted to enjoy it! The only thing was that it was a bit windy and I could feel it pushing me but I did a lot to counter it. You just have to be ready and loose so that your ready to react to the wind changes, the worse thing is being forceful or stiff when riding, being nimble and loose is key.
Its just great that no one seemed to be going to work on Thursday.
This is the revamped Tuono for 2007 from Aprillia. This is the factory edition which is packed with performance and style, with many light weight components added to this machine to make it very different then the average naked bike or Tuono. It gives supersport bikes a run for their money on the track, and handle the road just as well. A very responsive V-Twin better then the previous version. Carbon fiber panels to make it larger, with a better tweakable suspension by the addition of the Ohlin shocks and overall improvement of the engine and exhaust system. I really like what they have done with this motorcycle and I would like to test ride this motorcycle if I get the chance. They have even extended the warranty of this bike from 2 years to 4 years which is nothing short of amazing, Aprillia is stranding behind this bike.
They have completely revamped the 2007 Yamaha R1,redesigning the engine, suspension, and chassis to make for a very new mean looking motorcycle. The main change for this machine is the throttle-by-wire which was first introduced into the 2006 R6. Which seems to have slightly tamed the R1’s engine, some people say that it takes away from the raw power of the machine, but I think this makes the R1 more ridable and you have more usable power. You can come out of corners faster with this type of throttle to the point it might make you over confident, and it will feel better around corners and more stable when flipping left to right because the pivot position of the swingarm is 3mm higher then before. All these tweaks and changes have made this into one great piece of machinary.
