Tinted Visors on the Arai RX7...

There is only one modification that you can make to a brand new helmet and that is changing the visor. I really don’t like clear visors especially when using them at night. I automatically ordered the dark smoke visor for the Arai Corsair RX7 and since I had two I ordered two from online, for some reason this visors are always in high demand. After getting them I installed them right away, and I do that carefully bucause I’m always afraid that I will break the handles off the helmet. After the slight modification I do think they both look a lot cooler.

The Unvieled 2009 Yamaha R1...

It has been all nice and quiet from Yamaha until they anounced the new R1. There has been a lot of speculation about this machine, but it seems that one thing is for sure its supposed to make a big bang. 182 bhp with a revolutionary engine design as they have stated and different engine mappings for different types of riding. I wonder how this is going to be compared to previous models, and it seems that people think this bike will be a big jump compared to the previous models. A lot of design and chassis modifications are directly tied to Moto GP technology.

One thing is for sure, this bike looks good and its going to sell.

Graves Motorsports Fender Eliminator Kit...

Description: Graves Motorsports Fender Eliminator Kits are designed to eliminate the stock rear fender to give the bike a more race inspired look. These kits have been designed to use stock or Graves turn signals. All Graves Motorsports fender eliminator kits are fabricated from black anodized aluminum for long term reliability and great looks. There is no cutting required to your stock fender and all hardware is included for easy installation.

By law the motorcycle manufactures have to adhere to production rules which state that the license plate holders should be at least 30cm/12inches long with lights and signals. I have been very annoyed with the one I have on my Ducati so I have been looking for a high quality Fender Eliminator Kit, there some out there but they are pretty low quality. As soon as I saw that Graves Motorsports made one that fit the stock signals I bought it and can’t wait to fit it to my 1098S, its going to clean up the rear very nicely.

Arai RX7 Corsair Hayes Jolly Roger Helme...

After a few months of waiting I have finally gotten my Corel Riley Arai Corsair RX7. There was a long waiting list for this helmet, the moment they made this helmet it was flying off the shelves. I tend to think you can’t have enough helmets, and this helmet is unique with the RX7 type helmet. I do love the smell of a new helmet, now the only thing I can do is to wait for the weather to get mildly better and less humid.

An Interesting Weekend for Ramadan...

Usually during Ramadaan everyone wants to sleep in so they won’t be too hungry during the day. My plan was to sleep in on Friday morning but I woke up right at 8:00 and things went from there. It was an interesting fun weekend but we were thirsty half way through the day.

Friday:

  • 8:00 am on computer
  • 8:45 am call from K and M
  • M meets me up at 10:30 and we are heading to Shuweikh
  • 10:45 B calls his car broke down so we drive to the Gulf Road & 3rd Ring Road
  • Wait about an hour for the two truck to get there
  • We were thirsty as hell and sweating like crazy
  • 11:45 am went to M’s house with the tow truck to drop off the car there
  • 12:15 went to M’s house which is being built and checked out the network and electrical setup, needs some work. Beautiful house, and nice garage
  • 1 pm went to Shuwaikh
  • 2 pm back to Mishref but headed to K’s place to find him and S working on their car
  • 3 pm got home thirsty and hungry, and I jumped in the shower
  • And the events that took place normally after futoor, but the time until futoor I was too hungry and thirsty to sleep.
  • 6:05 pm futoor
  • 6:05 pm to 7:45pm with the family
  • 7:45 pm heading towards Dewaneya to beat the ridiculous traffic around 8:30 pm, instead of a 15 minute drive it becomes a 45 minute drive.
  • 8:10 pm to 10:45 pm in family dewaneya where people were visiting and lots of extended family to see
  • 11:00 pm got to K’s place and tried watching Zoohan while eating some meat shawarma
  • 1:00 am fell asleep

Saturday:

  • 7:30 am, I’m wide awake again for some reason. So I started working on my computer
  • 8:15 am, I get a call from K and he is awake as well, so we decided to meet up
  • 9:00 am I’m at the BMW Dealership and its relatively empty and I took the car in as well as complained about a few things such as the Navi DVD being missing
  • 9:30 am, K picked me up
  • 9:40 am, we are at Platform looking for metal shelving and a torque wrench
  • 10:00 am, we are at Abyatt looking for the same, didn’t find it here either
  • 10:20 am, we went to our friend’s work since he works in Shuweikh and on Saturday and made a mess of his place
  • 10:40 am, we get a call from M and his car now broke down but pretty close to his but still he sweated like crazy
  • 11:00 am, we went to Autociti and took a look at their cars, there is an Aston Martin Race Car in the basement as well as a McLaren SLR 722 which haven’t sold yet. Then I touched pretty much every car their just because I couldn’t resist the urge with sign saying don’t touch. Who ever is making the business decisions there is a nut job
  • 11:25 am, we are Alghanim Electronics looking at stuff and K picked up a few things which were to be delivered
  • 12:15 pm, we went to S’s place to finalize a few details that we are planning and then left
  • 12:45 pm, tow truck came to M’s place and we help load up his car which was taken to the dealership
  • 1:15 pm, we went to M’s house which is being built to talk to the Electrical Guy and find out the blundering that took place with the networking and house to fix it
  • 2:30 pm, we headed home and I was hungry as hell and thirsty as hell like the day before
  • 2:45 pm, lounging on the computer for the period watching episode after episode of BattleStar Galactica
  • 6:05 pm, futoor at last
  • 8:05 pm, fell asleep
  • 10:30 pm, I woke up
  • 10:45 pm, Got me some Strawberry Cheese Cake from Baskin Robins and chilled at home
  • 1:45 am, Fell asleep

I think its a pretty active couple of days for people fasting, and I think if other places were open we would would have gone there as well. I could pile up some statistics over our activities over the past couple of days.

2009 Bimota DB7...

An Italian beauty with a 1098 engine, Bimota was created the perfect chassis to go with this an exceptional engine. Pumping out 160 bhp with 172 KG dry weight this machine has all the bits an pieces to make it a piece of art.

The details of this machine is what sets it apart from the rest. Billet aluminum pieces with carbon fiber parts. This isn’t one of those mass produced machines, its a work of art and it has to be tuned to be ridden right. Tuning this machine is key to getting all that you can out of it, if it isn’t then the ride won’t feel good.

Price: $40’000

KTM Venom...

Now this is an interesting development, it seems that the Austrians are keeping their pace. Since their successful release of the KTM RC8 they announced the production of the KTM Venom which is more of street fighter then a super sport. The exact specs of the machine are unknown but they are speculating that it will have the same 1149cc engine of the RC8 but retuned for more mid-range and low-end power. I hope they make it like that but the headlight just isn’t to my liking, everything else is perfect.

BMW S1000RR...

At 190 Kgs and pumping out 190 bhp, this monster of a German machine is going to cause a ripple in the motorcycle market. The Germans are chomping the Japanese’s ass, I can’t wait to see how the production machine is going to look like. The plan is to have this machine on sale by the end of 2009, it will be scaring a few people. I do like the attitude the Germans have been taking a little risk with their designs and machines, and if the specs and video are anything to go by then this is going to be one hell of a machine.

Tristar Service Center...

I was planning on riding Friday night, so I went downstairs to get on Pyro. Things looked good and the biked fired right up even after 1.5 months of remaining stationary. So I put it into gear and it jumped as if I wasn’t holding the clutch, it was strange. After a few tries and that didn’t work, so I parked Pyro and decided to go out on Robo.

Started that beast and all I got was a hiss, the battery was dead. What a start to riding, so I texted the Tristar Mechanic asking him if he could take a look at both bikes these week. Saturday morning at 8:15 am while I was asleep, I get a call from the Driver at Tristar saying he will be here in 15 minutes to pick up both bikes which surprised me. They took both bikes in the morning and I passed by their workshop. I was very surprised and very happy to see such a nice garage. I think my garage is pretty nice, but they have tiled floors, five areas to work on bikes, a nice waiting area, and all the machines organized. Its very nice seeing these beautiful machines treated like this. I went home around 12:30 pm and the bikes showed up around 2:45 pm which is fantastic. They replaced Robo’s battery and replaced a clutch piece, turns out the times I was cleaning the bike water was going into the housing because its open, I just have to make sure to cover it when I clean it up.

Picking Up The R1...

The R1 has had a few modifications done to it since I came to the states, a full Akrapovic exhaust system, power commander, 1 tooth lower from the front sprocket, and gaskets. I got on the bike as soon as San Jose Yamaha told it is ready to go.

I was so excited that I forgot to take any gear with me and they were going to close up in 30 minutes and there was no way I could make it home and back in time. So I went straight there and picked up the skull and bones Arai RX7 and a new pair of Alplinestar gloves. I loved the helmet and the gloves were a good fit. I was supposed to go home and my friend was following me in the truck, for about 30 seconds and then I took off like a demon. I forgot that I was in the states and that cops will chase motorcyclists down to fine them unlike to Kuwait. It was pure bliss riding such a powerful beast, and the exhaust tone was music to my ears, I wanted to continue riding but my Quiznos sandwich was getting cold so I headed home.
