Marko Djurdjevic Comic Art...

Marko Djurdjevic is the founder of SIXMOREVODKA concept art studio. He has done some awesome redesigns for Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four in the past, but here’s a collection with a lot of his other work, which is all very cool stuff. His stuff has this old school classic Alex Ross kind of feel to it.

Marko is one of those artists that really know how to bring out the real look of the characters. I love what he did with the spiderman suit it looks like a new age spiderman with the fantastic four. Sometimes I prefer the new modern looking comics but these realistic looking designs are amazing as well, I can never get tired of comics.

Street Fighter On The Grid...

Evil Ryu

The resent string of tronified characters have been pretty cool but from Kode’s Logic emerges the coolest yet, from the characters of Street Fighter in Tron Form and ready to go. My favorites of the bunch are VegaTron, GoukiTron, BlankaTron, and RyuTron. I wish had the skills to draw like that but for now I can admire this artist’s work. Disney should commission all this Tron Artwork and have them up for sale, they are insanely cool.

Stormtroopers 365...

I can never really get enough of Star Wars and everyone always thinks of the Stormtroopers as nothing interesting but these shots tell a bit of funny story. This project from Stefan was to take daily shots of Stormtroopers TK455 and TK479 for one year, starting April 3rd 2009 and ending April 4th 2010. A lot of them are very creative photos and amazing shots, the titles on some of them are hilarious, and I just posted a few of my favorite pictures in this post.

4 Store – Aziz Al Mudhaf Exhibitio...

Every once in a while there are amazing events such as these in Kuwait, I for one love going to art displays in Kuwait and I usually don’t have a chance. Last night I had the chance to see the work of a local artist Aziz Al Mudhaf at the new 4 Store Gallery in Shuweikh opposite BMW and I was impressed, it looks like something from the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His work seemed very interesting, somethings I really liked and somethings weren’t of my taste but overall I think the whole thing was amazing. When I was inside the 4 Store gallery I felt that I was somewhere in Europe or the US, I saw some people that I haven’t seen in a long time and it was a very fun and nice atmostphere. I’m going to try to go to more events such as this when I have more time.

Silhouette Typography Posters...

One way to remember movie quotes with these posters, the combo of typography with iconic pop culture references from Jerod Gibson really puts the movie together for you. I’m a fan of pop art and I enjoy these cool movie posters, and it can be applied to laptops, iPhones, and clothing. My favorite ones being The Hang Over & Star Wars.

Abu Dhabi – Rebranded...

It seems that all you hear about these days is Abu Dhabi, Dubai has reached the peak of its fame even though it is still developing. I think AbuDhabi has learned from the mistakes of Dubai and other cities, they have taken the best of all different cities and countries and applying it to themselves. You see more and more advertising for Abu Dhabi through out the world but it is being done smoothly and with class. Dubai being the loud guy in the room, and Abu Dhabi is the suave and cool guy in the corner.

They have enticed F1 to come to Abu Dhabi, and the opening Ferrari Park soon. They are even developing the airport to be another central long haul hub in the region and aggressively promoting Etihad as the elite airlines of the region. Several major projects taking place in different areas such as the Arts in the form of the Ferrari Museum, as well as talk of an Abu Dhabi Louvre. They are taking their time and picking the best of the crop of all that they want, they have been quiet for a decade and now they are coming out

From rebranding to choosing the different color pallete to go with the Abu Dhabi brand, and then the font to match the new design. Its amazing work and I like how they have incorporated it all together and complements each other.

I enjoyed the quote below especially the “lunacy” part

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However you may be more familiar with the world’s-tallest-tower-building, 7-star-hotel-opening, artificial-islands-in-the shape-of-a-world-map-making, or palm-creating lunacy of Dubai, the more famous of the two UAE cities.

Superhero/Supervillan Poster Art...

I can never get enough of comics and these comic book poster Art are just something else. Mark Grambau is the creator of these cool posters, taking the minimal look of the characters and combining them with the words that match and some of them are pretty damn good. I would love to have walls of poster art from Comic Books, I would have a full room of them if its possible.

iPod Wall...

Concepts like these are really cool, putting together an animated design acting as tiled photo display on 20 iPod Touches. This would be considered an expensive animated tiled imaged but still very cool, whats great is they took the concept and programmed it to output this into 20 iPod with one controlling iPod. It’s not very hard but still not easy to design a program such as this, but I love the idea. The wood part I would be able to do but the programming is out of my league.

Faber Castell – Perfect Pencils...

Most everything is digital these day but when I go to meetings I have my trusty Moleskin with me and when I travel I have another for personal use. I like writing stuff down, drawing and doodling on the Moleskin. But with the perfect not pad you have to have the perfect tool, and in this case it the Faber-Castell pencils, I have been using them for a while, regular pencils and mechanical pencils. My drawing skills are no better then that of a 3 year old but I still like to draw and sketch, its always a good way to display ideas and I’m always noting stuff down or trying to draw things.

I have picked up about six different pens and pencils over the last two years and I use them all, I have some which are clipped onto a specific note pad and some I use for doodling. And recently I bought a drawing pencil set, from 6H to 8B, and I don’t even know what that means except maybe the thickness of the lead of the pencils, its just normal black pencils which I use for drawing and shading and some of these are very thick so its going to be fun trying them out. I have found these pencils available in Magahwi in Salmiya and Kuwait City opposite Khaleejeya complex, and in Greece Airport, Singapore Airport, all over the UK. If your a person that enjoys their writing and drawing utensil then this is the perfect tool.
