Just a few days left in this year and I thought I would wrap up the shows and anime I’m watching and I have really fallen back compared to what I used to watch. But over the last few months I have managed to catch up a bit on the shows. I have restarted Bleach at last, slowly chipping away at the mountain of episodes left, it is one of hell of show, I loved where I picked up. Too many good shows out there to watch, but right now the top four are Jojo’s Bizzare Adventures, Mobile Suit Gundam Age, Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, Bleach.

Like the movie, the show is predominantly a parody of and tribute to blaxploitation cinema. The show continues the story of Black Dynamite and his crew of Bullhorn, Cream Corn, and Honey Bee as they engage in dangerous and over-the-top misadventures sometimes involving African-American stars ex: Michael Jackson (back when he was part of the Jackson 5), O. J. Simpson, Richard Pryor, Mr. T and other famous people like Elvis Presley, as well as Black Dynamite’s recurring arch-nemesis President Richard Nixon (the main villain from the film). This show also makes references to the original Black Dynamite movie, such as Fiendish Dr. Wu as the leader of a group of ninjas; however, the show seems to follow its own continuity; as some characters from the film who were killed off are alive in the series.
This is one over the top ridiculous animated tv shows I have seen in a while, insults of every kind flying everywhere. They took the movie and took it to another level, with the style of 70s and some great humor they really made this show hilarious especially with Black Dynamite. This isn’t meant for kids, this is directed to adults and you can tell when you watch it. The idea of an orphanage and whorehouse being the same business is just ridiculous, its what Black Dynamite calls his Whorphanage, and it just gets more ridiculous from there, it is offensive on a lot of levels and I love that about the show. Its just over the top animated fun of the R-rated kind, its just 10 episodes but I hope they bring it back again.

With the fall of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Japan is once again plunged into chaos as his once subordinate Ishida Mitsunari looks to seek revenge against Date Masamune. Tokugawa Ieyasu however seeks a different path despite having once been under Toyotomi’s forces. Their fates soon intertwine with Sanada Yukimura’s and other warriors across the land. With a new unknown threat looming over the land, all warriors advance to Sekigahara for a final showdown…as a sinister plot unfolds in the background.
The movie to tie up parts of season 1 and season 2, I can never get enough of Sengoku Basara, the characters and story are just too good. And this 90 min movie will get your blood pumping, Ieyasu Tokogawa is trying to unite the Land Of The Rising Sun using bonds and reason, twice it has been burnt & hurt by power to dominate from Nobunaga and Hideyoshi. This time around the Tiger of Kai & Dragon of Oshu are against insane odds, with so many generals on the field it is an epic battle. As the battle takes place the real enemy appears and again all of the generals must unite in this battle to stop the threat against the Land Of The Rising Sun. As I have said it before the animation of this anime is amazing, the movie is just as good as the series, and I love the characters, any anime fan will love this.

Produced by Chinese animation studio Wolf Smoke (also responsible for the awesome and NSFW Kung Fu Cooking Girls), this three part adventure transports Catwoman, Bane and the Caped Crusader himself back to Shanghai in 1930 for an all-out battle of thievery and mystical kung fu, and if you haven’t seen it, you’re in luck.

DC Nation Shorts are pretty cool and they came up with this, I think it would look pretty good as a full animation not just a short. I love how they brought Batman to the 1930s, and to watch these youtube shorts start from top to bottom to develop the story the right way.
A day after TNI ran a story about ThunderCats still possibly being on the loose, it now appears that the cage doors have slammed shut on this cartoon reboot. The show’s art director, Dan Norton, has claimed the following on Facebook: “Let me just say, nobody is working on TCats. It would take years to get it back on tv if we started today. Draw your own conclusion.”
The conclusion everybody seems to be drawing? That ThunderCats’ second life is over. While the news has yet to be confirmed by an official press release, Norton’s statement would seem fairly telling. However, others optimistically believe that the show is going forward without Norton and some staff since neither Bandai nor Cartoon Network has officially acknowledged a cancellation (and, in fact, the last official comment involved trying to work the show into Cartoon Network’s schedule).

Please No!! Come on, I was so happy they brought back an 80s cartoon and did it so well. We all grew up watching it and loving it, and we still love it even when the cartoon is a bit childish from the 80s, it carried a spirit and heroism that we could relate to. What I loved about the new animation is that they kept the spirit of the original animation yet they made the story more complex and did an amazing job of telling, more character development and depth, and a lot of morality was brought into it, something that I wasn’t expecting. The end of the season was so good I couldn’t wait for season 2, but it seems that no anouncement has been made and it was left of the Cartoon Network line up, please bring it back, we love the show.
Plot Summary: There are two forces in the world: the Zet, who are entrusted with the survival of humanity, and the Alphas, who have chosen an extreme form of justice. In a certain city, Jin lives under a bridge with an old man, struggling to pay off debts. He carries the destiny of humanity’s survival. Kouga lives on a hill and stands to inherit vast wealth. In his admiration for heroes, he seeks out the meaning of justice. They don’t know it now, but they are destined to one day meet.
The moment I saw the trailer to this Anime I thought of Guyver, at last they made something similar with the same dark tone. Zetman was heading in that direction and Zet was a cool character, with him slowly developing his powers fighting monsters. It picks up pace but then it just doesn’t grab you 100% and the other characters get a bit annoying, Kouga develops as well half way through as another main character and honestly I don’t care for him. The story diverts a little too much, even forcing a ridiculous romance, Zet is a badass and they should have capitalized on it. Its a fun anime but don’t get your expectations too high.

Now this is a very cool animation of two men after one fox, and it turns into one very cool martial arts battle. Feels like a Pixar short, and I love the facial expressions.
Masked Hell denizens appear in Karakura town so Rukia and Renji are sent to investigate the matter. After a fight with them they manage to rescue Karin(Ichigo’s sister) from them but they return to hell with Yuzu(also Ichigo’s sister). Having rescued Karin, Kokuto(a hell denizen himself) befriends Ichigo and they set out to save Yuzu from Shuren(the commander of the denizens that kidnapped Ichigo’s sisters).
The fourth movie for Bleach, honestly they can never make enough and this time around its a good amount better then the previous one. This is a 2010 movie but I have only had a chance to see it these days, I’m just jumping into shows and movies without thinking of the order I’m watching them in. Bleach still on hold for me, and I’m probably going to catch up with it soon but for now I was planning on satisfying my urge to watch Bleach and this movie did it. I saw forms of Ichigo as he developed to fight stronger opponents and I just love that no matter how many times he gets beat down he keeps coming back for more. It was a pretty decent movie with a plot that kept developing and this time around I want to continue watching the anime, if you are a fan of Bleach and haven’t seen this movie then you should.

Plot Summary: Shirou Emiya lost his parents in a fire when he was young and was later adopted by a sorceror by the name of Kiritsugu Emiya. Although he was full of admiration for his adopted father and yearns to become an ally of justice, Shirou has limited powers and was unable to become a strong sorceror like his father. That is until one fateful day, he was drawn into the Holy Grail War and had to summon a female “Servant” known as Saber in order to protect himself. It turns out that the Holy Grail War involves a series of battles among powerful sorcerors to fight for the possession of a relic that will grant one’s wishes, the Holy Grail. There are altogether seven “Masters” who can summon their respective “Servants” from different classes known as Saber, Archer, Rider, Berserker, Lancer, Caster and Assasin. These “Servants” have to hide their names in order not to reveal their weaknesses to the enemies. The story revolves around Shirou and his entanglement in the Holy Grail War.
Fate Stay Night was an anime that I have had on the back burner for a while. Since it had a sequel I prefered to watch the first part since everyone was talking about the sequel. Each mage summons a “Servant” or a warrior to serve him in this battle. They all fight in different styles and I liked the way the anime was going but one thing that annoyed me, it just felt that there wasn’t enough depth. Shirou the main character just didn’t pull me in, it felt a bit flat. For an interesting story it felt like too many characters introduced and killed off in a short time to give them depth. Still it was a decent anime, now I’m just going to move on to the next one.

RUIN – An animated short set in a post-apocalyptic universe. It’s an introduction to a much larger story in the works.
I love animation like this, it looks so good it can be real, and this animation short is being turned into a full feature film by 20th Century Fox. Every few years there is a movie like this and usually they are pretty good, it takes a lot of work to make something like this and for a short this is really good.
