Review: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

Plot Summary: It’s been one year since the failure of the Black Rebellion and the supposed death of Zero. Britannia has assigned Area 11 a “correctional education” status, where Elevens are made an example of by brute force, to try to prevent any future uprisings and suppress rebellious thoughts. Unsuspecting high school student Lelouch, oblivious to his rebellious past as Zero, stumbles upon a scheme on his life and the life of a mysterious woman known as C.C., who reveals to him his forgotten purpose and his “true” self. Destroying his assailants and declaring himself Zero once again, Lelouch sets out to finish what he started.

This is a follow up of the first season of Code Geass, which ended on a very high note. Now Lelouch finds himself on the other side of the fence, and he has to defeat the King and find the a way to win against all these odds. The pace just picks from the following season, and some how they manage to increase the pace and make it better then before. You don’t realize what is going to happen next, and when you do its too late. I love that they leave you guessing at every corner in this Anime. Its one those Animes that leave a mark, you won’t forget the feeling it gave you any time soon. I even had a difficult time finishing it since I didn’t want it to end, its hard to find an Anime which can be half as enjoyable as this.
