All these shows were on hiatus since December, I don’t know why it takes so long for animated shows to come back after their breaks. It took them long enough, they are all back into play and really getting interesting, Young Justice as usual is into the third episode with a great storyline from DC Comics, Thundercats and Green Lantern just started this week and I’m looking forward to watching them.
I’m also following Star Wars The Clone Wars, honestly its the animation is really good and the story is great, its into Season 4, if you like Star Wars then you will love this show.
The second season witnesses the emergence of Toyotomi Hideyoshi as the next potential unifier of the land, through only strength and brute force he plans to unify the land of the rising sun. Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune have their own battles to fight to stop Hideyoshi from destroying Japan.
Just the battle’s from Sengoku Basara pull you in, and the first season this show made me go nuts, it was fantastic. I was hooked from day 1, the animation penmanship was so detailed, the fight scene’s were brutally and powerfully animated and each fight scene was different. After the first series had finished, I waited for a serious amount of time for this second season to arrive. Sengoku Basara Ni, kept everything at a vantage point from its predecessor, the full blitz and blown out battle field wielding all its former glory of hack and slash action was everything I waited for. I’ve watched it to the glorious end, and I truly recommend this for anyone who’s looking for a climatic story with fierce competition, and I’m hoping for another season soon because the story is too good to end here.

I think everyone knows how Mazinger is, well at least the kids from the 80s do but he has crossed many generations and I think we are especially familiar with him in Kuwait. Now that I managed to get my hands on a Fewture Great Mazinger 1969 Model, I was very excited, for those who don’t know Fewture makes THE coolest models, and they are almost all metal and are very high quality. I have this model for sometime but I wanted to place him in the perfect spot, somewhere I would see every day and enjoy it.
It took me about 30 minutes to unbox, clean, and put him together while taking the photographs and I think in my head I was waiting for him to come alive and to become a real gigantic robot, I still have a notion that one day I will be piloting a super robot. From my previous posts I have the Senshiro Jumaro Model and Ghost In The Shell – Tachikoma which is still one of my favorites.
Saya is a seemingly normal girl living with her father in a shrine. During the day she goes to school and spends time with her friends at a local cafe. But when night falls Saya is called upon to protect her village from strange monsters.
Going into Blood C I thought it was going to be sort of like Blood Trinity, vampires and fighting with a lot of battles. But it didn’t turn out that way, it revolved around Saya fighting these monsters and protecting her family and friends. At first the anime started off a bit slow, I wanted to see what it would bring, there was something hidden and honestly I couldn’t tell exactly where the story was going and I had my suspicions but for a 12 episode show it could have been a lot better. There is too much wasted story and the ending honestly was over the top, the last two episodes put everything together and it was totally unexpected and good but it made the first initial episodes look like crap. This anime was honestly confusing it wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad, and the graphics was pretty good, and I was surprised how graphically violent the anime was, it was extreme more then I expected from this show. I was planning to give it a 2.5 out of 5 but because of the last few episodes I’m giving it a 3.5 out of 5, still slightly confused but still I liked it.

Plot Summary: Sternbild City is home to people called “Next,” who use their special abilities to protect the people as superheroes. These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire “hero points.” Their activities are documented on the popular program “Hero TV,” which picks the “King of Heroes” in a yearly ranking. The veteran hero Wild Tiger has always preferred to work alone, but now he’s been assigned the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr., who has a different perspective on being a superhero.
I always do enjoy these types of anime, short and sweet, but it keeps getting a little bit more complex and they always leave a bit of mystery which is very good. Humans start developing Powers which they call NEXT and each power is different from the other, and the best of them become Heros protecting the city and each Hero is backed by a Sponsor which is a very capitalistic idea. The action is there right away and you hit the ground running meeting all the characters, and this anime revolves around two of them, Tiger & Barnaby or Bunny as they call him. Then the story starts digging deeper and you get connected with all the characters and how things develop with the story line. The best part is reaching the end but then whats great is that just enough is left for another season and more of the story to dig deeper and darker into what was waiting in the background. Basically an anime worth watching and very entertaining.

Recently I haven’t been watching too much anime since I didn’t have a lot of time on my hands, too busy with a lot of things and some of these shows really pull you in. So I decided two weeks back to pick a show and just watch it, and thats what I did, then I ended up watching several anime’s at the same time and all of them are very different from each other and liking them all. Luckily I have a few full seasons like Stiens:Gate & Blood C, and I’m watching Brave 10 And Gundam AGE which are currently airing. All of them are different levels of complexity and I’m enjoying them all.
Looking at comic work such as this only makes me want to read comics more, and this just sketch work from Artist John Timms. He has created a hell of a great collection of Superhero sketch art that I love, and I always like when Artists take the characters we know and draw them in a different light. A few of these pieces were actually done on an ipad, which is pretty amazing. There’s also art for characters like Popeye, Scooby Doo, and more.
The kids of the 80s will know who this is instantly, Senshiro and Jumaro from the robotic wrestling show of the 1980s. This is when KTV was at its finest, they had amazing animated cartoons from Japan even before Europe and North America did, we were ahead of the curve with so much types of media. And I remember it so fondly this was one of the shows that I cherished, who wouldn’t have wanted a robot as they were a kid that can kick ass. Usually I prefer watching anime in Japanese but I saw a few episodes of Jumaro a while back and watched them in both Japanese and Arabic, and by far the Arabic was much better. Surprisingly the anime had a few risque drawings in the Anime from back in the 80s, it shows that we were more open back then.
Thanks to Fewture models I was able to find the Jumaro model, and whats great about their models is that they are made from metal and molded to the perfect form. The model is fully moveable joints while made out of metal, and Jumaro looks everything like the animated series, if not better then the series. Didn’t take long to unbox and put together, I placed next to the other Japanese & Fewture models on my shelf. The only thing left to make this the perfect model is for him to have A.I. and move based on my telepathic commands.
Check out this YouTube for the intro video to Senshiro.
Plot Summary: Seventeen years ago, several meteorites carrying seven types of alien crystals landed on Earth. Given the name of Sacred Seven, these crystals withhold the power to alter DNA and cause mutations. Inheritor of overwhelming abilities from this enigmatic legacy, Alma Tandoji is an unsociable 17-year-old student feared by his schoolmates due to several rumors of his violent behavior. He is contacted by Ruri Aiba, a rich teenage girl and CEO of the powerful Aiba Foundation, who pleads him to help her fight a mysterious enemy that very recently started causing massive havoc through the land.
Tandoji has this power that he has no control over until he meets Ruri Aida, how has a power that can help him harness his. This is one of those interesting anime’s that could have gone either way, a trouble young man with uncontrollable powers and people who wanted to cause damage, and he had the power to stop them. The story was off to a nice start and I was liking the characters, its always good to have that unknown factor, not knowing whats going to happen next. The problem was that they were trying to get a dark effect but throwing in some comedy at the wrong time. If the story was longer they could have made it a bit more complex and still kept the comedy, it was a very good anime to watch and I enjoyed it but it wasn’t consistent that was its only real fault.

Plot Summary: Humans live in the world of Assiah, demons in Gehenna. The two dimensions are not meant to interfere with each other, but demons still possess creatures in Assiah in spite of this. The humans who can fight these demons are known as exorcists. Rin Okumura is a boy who bears the curse of being Satan’s illegitimate son. His foster father sacrificed himself to save him from demons. To avenge his foster father’s death as well as to prove himself, Rin decides to follow the path of an exorcist.
This anime had the makings of a very good story, I for one do enjoy stories with Exorcists and demons even when it is a recurring theme in Japanese Anime. With Okumura it was entertaining, he was thought to be normal only to realize he had the blood of Satan flowing through him. I enjoy the comedic aspect and serious part of the story, always leaving you guessing. I enjoyed it but I wish they added a few more episodes to build it up even more and develop a few characters but overall it was a fun anime to watch.
